Quite a bit has been going on at Revolution as of late. First of all, as those who attended our most recent worship service witnessed, we now have REAL CHAIRS to sit on! No more granite-hard bleacher seats like we’re attending a lame high school assembly. Also, this past Sunday we kicked off our “Coffee & Conversation” social time prior to the worship service (beginning at 6:30 pm). It’s a great opportunity to load up on some Starbucks & cookies and actually learn the names of some of the people you’ve been sitting next to at Revolution for the past month or two.
Last Friday evening a group from Revolution went to the Salvation Army and helped serve dinner to roughly 80 needy individuals from our community. They had the opportunity to do everything from serving food, to pouring drinks, to cleaning tables, to washing dishes. Another group will be heading there this coming Friday evening, October 17, to help as well.
We are continuing to collect non-perishable food items for our local food pantries, which have been running perilously low on donations in recent months. So far, we have 3 or 4 boxes stuffed completely full, which is certainly a good start. We’ll be taking donations the entire month of October (and possibly beyond).
In addition to those projects, we have a couple of big events we’re already working on for the month of November as well. [We’ll post more about those as we begin getting the details ironed out].
On the “administrative front”, we are currently narrowing down choices for a logo for Revolution, which will then allow us to proceed with plans for a permanent website. God willing, we would like to have that up-&-running by the end of the year. In addition, we continue to forge ahead on a few mind-numbing organizational details (none of which I’ll bore you with at this time).
Obviously, Revolution is still a work in progress with many speed bumps ahead, but it seems like the wheels are beginning to turn.
